MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION |

Join with others in activities that are planned to educate, inform and promote awareness of the place of beads in history, in worldwide cultures and in modern society. OUR HISTORY NWBS, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization open to anyone with an interest in beads. We are dedicated to the study of beads, beading techniques and the historical role of beads in human development. We focus on the dissemination of knowledge and information about all aspects of beads. OUR MEETINGS NWBS holds monthly meetings, often with slide-illustrated lectures by nationally-known experts. Meetings are held at 7:00 pm the third Thursday of each month (except July and August), at the Greenwood Masonic Lodge, 7910 Greenwood Avenue N., Seattle. |
OUR NEWSLETTER NWBS publishes a quarterly newsletter, with articles of interest to bead collectors and enthusiasts, jewelry designers and bead artists, bead researchers and scholars, and bead merchants and business owners. We include information on workshops, classes and other events. We strive to present stories that represent the diversity of people in the bead community, and in our members. Approximately once a year, a roster of our business and individual members is published. OUR OTHER ACTIVITIES NWBS sponsors a yearly Bead Bazaar, usually in October, seasonal sales and demonstrations, as well as study groups. We facilitate swapping, selling, and “show-and-tell” activities for our members. No matter what your level of bead knowledge, a wide range of activities awaits your involvement. |
