NWBS October General Meeting

Come Join us for our monthly General meeting.
*Note this meeting date has been changed from our normal 4th Sunday due to the Bead Retreat
Join us IN PERSON for this month’s general meeting. Come prepared with your favorite snack and beverage, and maybe bring some of the pieces that you have been working on for show and tell.
*Note: we are asking those in attendance to provide proof of Covid-19 Vaccination and come fully masked for the comfort of some of our at-risk members. Thank you.
Class: 8 Strand Kumihimo with Beads
Instructor: Shirley Pauls
Supplies:
-S-Lon (Super-Lon size 18) thread to match beads (not much will show so it does not have to be a perfect match)
-1 Round Foam Kumihimo Braiding Disk
- 2 different colors of size 8 round seedbeads
- A weight that can be tied to the center of the threads (this can be an official Kumihimo weight or a fishing weight or a little bag of pennies.) you can also just hold tension on the braid with your fingers if you do not have a weight.
- A paper clip or bulldog clip to attach the weight to your threads.
- 2- 0.8cm (0.31 inch) metal glue on caps to fit the braid
- 1- clasp
- 2- jump rings
- 8 small plastic Kumihimo bobbins or cardboard for wrapping string and beads on
- Big eye needle
- Measuring tape
- Beading light if you need it
- Magnifier if you need it
- Scissors
- E-6000 glue
- Toothpick
- Beading surface
*NOTE: please string all your beads on the 8 cords before coming to class so you will have more time to finish your bracelet. (See number of beads to place on each cord in the instructions - email: nwbeadsocietyinfo@gmail.com)
Doors open at 10am
General Meeting starts at 11am
Meeting goes until 3:30pm or when we all decided to leave.
